Maria is a lifelong disability advocate involved with many Disability Representative Organisations, including as a board member of Women With Disabilities Australia. A part-time Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) user, Maria also founded and manages the AAC Image Library.

After 10 months, the Australian Government has released its response to the Commission’s recommendations. The Government accepts in full only 13 out of the total of 222 recommendations (172 of which are the Australian Government’s responsibility).
